Sorry to hear of the issues - we've all been there and paid some school fees - but at least you have her back now and 700HP is just wow.

Chryco, I wish you were local also!

Here are a couple of videos that I just took. I just took her out for a short around the block trip. I don't like the sound of the header tube out.  It makes it sound like a lifter is tapping. Seem to run OK so far. I did see transmission fluid that had leaked so have to address that.

Here are a couple pics also.

Waiting for the header to be repaired, break in to be complete, then watching you make lots of smoke.

Thanks to everyone who followed this and gave me support. It has been a long road but with just a few more tweaks it should be back to a managable condition. I'll move forward and learn from this and you can bet it won't happen again. All I can do is bet on Karma at this point. Once the headers is fixed and I check the transmission hook up I will send the carb out to CSU and then find a good dyno shop. Once that happens I will post up the numbers.

Good to hear you have it back. Also sorry to hear the !@#$%^ continued.
As it is now all fixes can and will be on your timeline.

Enjoy the big picture for now. Don't dwell on the smaller ones. Just pick them away a bit at a time.

Thanks for the vids. Sounds awsome.

Still dealing with issues.  :verymad: I just can't believe after all the time and money I am at the point that I am. I found out the shop did more sub par work so I am slowly trying to get it drivable then move forward from there. As everyone well knows it is tough to do when there is no more budget. Running into an issue with the brake booster now and the air intake pipe. I have another thread out asking about different boosters that might work (other than hydroboost, I don't have a power steering pump). I have a stock one right now. I haven't driven it more than 3 miles at a time. The exhaust is also leaking on otherside of the engine at the heads..... that's next on the list.

:headbang: You must be asking your self, is this ever going to end. Persistence will prevail!  :console:

JS29, yes I have been for awhile. It's tough to keep going in a situation like this. Really kind of burns you out. I've have 2 weeks off and can't do anything, very frustrating. Maybe the New Year will bring better times. I'm ready to say Good bye to 2019.

For those still interested, I have been dealing with small issues but I sent the carb out to have it fixed from the last shops debacle. Well now I can't get in touch with him. He has had it for 4 weeks and no word. I am a little floored why this keeps happening. So I wait..... still need to fix the exhaust leaks, etc. I was under the car today adn saw the rear axle sseals are leaking so I can add that to the list.  :bricks: I am almost tot he point of getting it fixed then sell it and take a break.

By the way for any of you living in the area of Pottstown, PA. that shop that worked on my car has chaned their name from Pottstown Street Cars to PSR Performance. Same owner different name so pass it around. Don't go there. Everyone have a good night.

Thanks for the update.  At some point the car will be as right as it can be.

I know it is frustrating but this is part of the game when restoring these classics. They all need various degrees of TLC and when you're done you start the next round. But, they provide so much enjoyment once you get to a stage where it is running well.
I had a 440 rebuild on my rag top shaker and it took a very long time and lots of $s. After the rebuild there were some minor stuff, like getting it tuned properly, new fuel pump and I also had to get a heat shield for the carb as those shakers do trap heat. At the time I felt very frustrated but knew I just had to push it through. It was worse for me as I was also busy with a new build which had gone wrong due to the restorer getting into financial trouble and on top of that I was busy with a '41 Harley flathead which also took its toll on my stress levels.

Right now the new build is almost done, just some gauges issues which I am waiting on parts for and some minor hood adjustments etc. The flathead is painted and I am in final assembly, so there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel and it's not a train this time.

Just hang in there or else you may fix the car and not get to enjoy it and the fruits of your effort.

I think you're pretty close and with a few loose ends to tidy up you're actually sitting pretty good. No excuse for the carb guy not to be in contact. Perhaps he's on vacation, that is common this time of year.

Yep still interested...
Sorry to hear about the carb delay. Hope it works out soon for you with it.
Overall now you sound real close. Take a breath (again) to clear head.

Waiting to hear the "I finally have it" update.
