OK, I heard back from Kevin at CSU carbs..... He actually talked to my engine builder and was floored at what they had done. Apparently when the shop called in an outside contractor - Total Racing Components (TRC) to look at the carb, TRC took out all the expensive parts in the carb and replaced them with junk, totally removed power valves, changed out the metering blocks, etc. Kevin was surprised it made power at all. Both Kevin and the engine builder (Bob) think that TRC took out the items to start building better Blow Off carbs thru TRC. I don't know but that is some crap IMO. Kevin is being real nice and is only going to charge me for new power valves and re-assembly. So PSR Performance out of Pottstown, PA is either not aware of what their subs are doing and incompetent or they are just rip off artists working with TRC. Either way it only costs me more $ and time.

Some people have zero honor and integrity.  Sorry to hear the challenges continue.

BIG shout out to Kevin and CSU Carburetors....  :ohyeah: Kevin really hooked me up. Carburetor is being overhauled and will be sent back, hopefully tomorrow. Not even charging me what he originally quoted.... it's less by the way. Great person to deal with. I highly recommend him if you ever need a great carburetor. SCREW PSR Performance out of Pottstown, PA and Total Racing Components!! I would never use any of them. I have no experience with a product from TRC but he really screwed up my carb. Hopefully i get the carb back in a week and I could be rolling again. Then back to fixing all the crap PSR Performance did wrong.

I received the carburetor today. Looks great. Unfortunately the battery is dead now so tomorrow it's off to buy another one. A friend of mine told me about a EFI system from Holley that he thinks would work great for me. It's a Holley 1250 Super Sniper. Anyone ever hear of it? I know some folks that run the Holley Sniper and they say it's great with no problems. I don't know much about EFI but this is supposed to be self tuning and easy to set up. I just got the carb back so I am torn. I couldn't do it for a bit anyway.

I am glad you got the carb back now
I know a couple of people who ran the Sniper & were very happy with it

I had a Sniper on my '58 Chevy Apache and took it off. Although it ran fine, it just doesn't have that carb feeling and sound. It also resets at times (battery disconnects etc) and that annoyed me. You also need to make sure you get the right dizzie with it, preferably the Holley.
Running a good well tuned carb on these cars is awesome. Mine has instant response and I love it.

My son is running a Sniper on his abused off road 440 and now on his W-2 360. They work great. Easier tuning compared to a carb.

Thanks for the replies about the Holley Sniper. My thoughts for EFI were fleeting. I priced what is needed for the exhaust repair and that needs to be completed before i look into EFI. I spent about 50 minutes on the phone with Kevin at CSU carburetors yesterday (he is a great guy and I would recommend him to anybody) and we were able to fix the needle seat issue (A LOT of gas out of the vent tube) reset the floats and somewhat tune it in so now it is back running. Since my timing gun was stolen out of my trailer at the last shop I can't get base timing yet. I know those idiots at the shop set the MSD to retard to 19 degrees under full boost but I need to find what they set my base at. Once I can find that out we can move to the next thing. I'm wondering if the torque converter is to tight. Well onward we move. I'll try to take a video of it next time I take it out.

Carb is running like a champ. Press the gas once and turn if over.... nice. Now to get the exhaust and tranny pan leaks fixed and we will be in business for the dyno.

I'm glad to hear things are going well for you.

We did an engine rebuild on my cuda as well and although it took very long it was so worth it. She's all back and so smooth and sweet. I just love an old school carb on my classics and we got her so nicely dialied in that you would think it is an EFI.

I find when something fights me to the end, when it's finally over they don't come back to haunt you and every thing is well.  :alan2cents:

Just work through each problem, it gets better and better.

OK, I believe I found a really good shop. I took the car is in the shop for my exhaust leaks. They found numerous leaks around the heads and at the collector, no gaskets, some silicone...etc. I have custom 2 inch headers now that are REALLY old and dented after what the other shop did to them. I also have leaks around the exhaust flanges where they were welded so looking into TTI headers to see if they will work. Rear axle seals were replaced, replaced the transmission pan that they dented all up so things are looking good. Good time to get this work done since I can't go anywhere.
