With each new edition of the tremec,  3550, TKO, TKX, the tremec engineers correct some of the inherent design insufficiencies.  The tremec's have a heavy rotating mass, and a 3 rail shift system, both of which  affect fast high rpm shifts.  If I were looking for a street 5 speed, I'd be looking at a beefed up T5, likely cheaper than a tremec.  Multiple companies build them with better gears, able to handle 500 ft lbs, and with a much lighter rotating mass and common rail shifting, will likely shift a lot easier.  Also, you can get custom "true" close ratio gear sets.  For a NA stock/modified SB or stock BB, I would think would be perfect.

I know it`s probably easier said than done but it`s too bad the A855 can`t be biult a bit cheaper and faster to be more competitive and keep up with demand.

Driveliine angle is resolved on the TKO.... You just have to be willing to cut / patch your floor and shim the transmission mount to get the rear of the transmission to the correct height. Looking at the TKX I bet this correction will be easier, not sure if it will be completely free of modifications to the floor on every car, we will have to wait and see.

It appears they improved the shifting on the TKX as well.

Just got my quote from SST.  $4930.00 with all the trimmings.  A very complete kit, even down to the 5 speed decal for the pistol grip.

Are you swapping from a 4 speed or 727 or?

I've communicated with him on FB in the past and he sells a lot of 5 speed transmissions but you have to move quick when he offers them for sale.

Not sure what the story is with Passon, I've read some really bad reviews from some of his customers regarding bad 5 speed trannys and his customer service. :notsure:

WOW, that's a good price.  :takemymoney: I bought my TKO 600 E Body kit at Carlisle from SST/Jeff Kaufman back in 2014 for 5,300 show price! :bigthumb:
