Plenty of money to finish your car and buy a whole warehouse full of prime cudas to keep it company.  Just need to beat those 1 in 290,000,000 odds.
No problem! :haha:

I have been trying!!!!!

Your already into it so to say , so on the bright side you will know the car is solid when your done. Buying another car maybe not so much , lipstick on a pig can be a issue.... Imagine buying another car then after a few years the paint starts bubbling..... engine issues etc....
Money is always a reality for most of us but if you can stick with it, you will have a solid car when your done. Might take a loss if you sold it but most of us are in it for the love of the car not the resale value. While there is not a uHaul behind your Hearst  with all your money in it, there also is not a flatbed with your car on  it.
Enjoy what you love while your here!

Keep at it. Plow through all those "sick to your stomach episode's." I did. Six years of it. I took breaks to regroup then I was ready to go again. Now I'm down to the engine fire up any day now.

Lots of $$$ and time invested but at this point... I'm going to finish it! Once it's done, all of that anxiety and frustration will disappear. Nothing but job satisfaction from then on.  :D

From a shell to engine start.

I think if you abandon the project, you'll regret it sooner or later. Don't do all that work and let someone else finish and take the credit.  :stop:

It's your Cuda, finish it. JMHO.

Once it's complete you'll have something.  Keep that in mind...  If you sell it you'll be behind again.

Tuff choice, but the bright side is you seem to be thinking either keep going or turn it over into a driver. I just am literally doing the last few items for my Cuda restoration and it has been 5 years and about 70k over budget. Thought I could do it for under 100k being able to do all the work except final paint and the top. So moral my story for you is if you think it's going to be 50k more it will be 70k more. If that's too much than you have gotten good advice on how to get out of the project. There were times I wanted to get out of mine for money issues and wife issues as well as health issues.
But now when banging into 2nd with
A huge smile makes me look forward to this coming season for shows and drives. Good luck with your decision

I am feeling pretty good for a Friday afternoon after reading through all the comments!

So, plan for now is finish of the metal work and see how I feel.  I have a sneaky suspicion seeing it all in black and looking like an actual car is going to change my outlook for the better.

Plus, I f I decide I dont have the stamina, it will be a strong foundation for the next guy.  I already have most of what I need, so that money is already gone!!

I am not so much looking at the total cost, just the relentless cost RIGHT NOW...

I tracked my Dads 70 A66 down that he sold to a gentleman in the late 70's and at which point I bought it back in 2005. It was my Dad's high school car and my parents wedding car, so some sentimental value to it. I worked on the car from 2005-2010 when life, family, kids, work got in the way and shelved the project, and just recently picking it back up 2 years ago.

I think about it in a couple ways...

There are days I think if I never found the car...longer times than anticipated, longer work times than expected, poor quality reproduction parts, challenge of finding decent people to do the work, etc...I would probably just find a Challenger already done and live life like that. Not quite the same.

Its not one project its a hundred projects all going at the same time, seats, engine, chrome, dash, etc. Which can be daunting but also seems like something is always moving forward.

When it comes to the cost, I know I will never get my money back out of it. I am fine with that. I watch my friends buy motorcycles, boats, campers, etc all with somewhat instant gratification. All that plummet in price. At the end of the day just a different way to spend fun money, something to do with my kid, and show that bid things are possible.

That's the spirit! and, another thing to look forward to, is that eventually you'll just get numb to it!  :lookatthat:

I can't say I've abandoned my project, but I sure as hell have neglected it for far too many years!
