I spent about 5-6 hrs in the garage cleaning glass, cleaning those swine wheels (like about 1/2hr per),re-gooped the vinyl roof, vacumned the carpets, cleaned the glass, chrome polished the wheels and bumpers and instant detailed here and there and took the ol'gal out and over to New Hamburg where they have a pre-Moparfest car show that fills the whole downtown area. Met Murray, Doug and Josee, Murray2 and his wife Rosemary. These were hundreds of cars of all descriptions, even 2! Avanti's!!Couple of pints and a hot dog and it was nearly 7:30! Got to get home and rested up for the first day of Moparfest!

Up and out of the house by 7 and back off to New Hamburg for Moparfest. Stopped by a guy at the McDonalds who it turns out is a Mopar guy and who told me that he has 2 SBMs he's thinking of selling. Both are 030 over and complete but he didn't know what he wanted for them. Drove over to New Hamburg and by 8AM there was a line up, but I got in pretty quick and parked in the first ball diamond as we all have done for years. The difference between this year and last is that there were no huge puddles and greasy grass and the day got hotter and hotter! I heard the number of 40C or 102F mentioned. Walked around and on one of the vendor lanes were some gents selling cold beer for $4 a can. I asked them if they were conducting a mathematics test when I read their sign "beer $4 a can or 3 for $15"! Whaaa? The show itself wasn't set up as well as in prior years, with no big (and shady) beer tent; no service club BBQ and about 1/2 of the previous portable washrooms. There are now food trucks and the one closest to the grandstands was charging $10 for a hot dog? WTF?There was a huge turnout though! In the sales corral, there were nice ones and pieces of----. The one thing uniting them was the astronomical prices they were asking! This scares me in the sense that there are fewer and fewer folks who can afford to restore a car and that bodes poorly for the hobby. Alan Gallant's resto rod '71 Cuda ragtop was there- wih a $260,000 asking  price shown! Nice car, truly, but you'd nearly need to be a Saudi prince to afford it. Who was it here that was looking for a lower valance mldg for a '72-74 Challenger and couldn't find one? I bought a half decent one for him today for $10. Reach out.  :alan2cents:

Wow...$260k....While I like e-bodies, if I'm spending $260k on a car it'll be a Ferrari or some such machine.

I ordered 4 more cuda shirts with our club emblem on them.
Better hurry, tomorrow is the deadline as the site is closing.

Saturday i drove my 74 Challenger Plum Crazy 408 stroked small block to a large cruise in show about 37 miles from my house.   It was part local and part freeway driving.   Got dozens of thumbs up and what a beautiful car.

With its A518 overdrive i drove at about 75-80 mph with the tach showing right around 2200 RPM.   I had filled her up at the beginning and then on return filled again at same station.  She got 15.6 MPG on that trip which is fantastic !

It's NOT a Ford, it's NOT a Chevy, it's a MOPAR!
On Sunday, my son & I attended a local Car Show and was voted Best of Show! There were about 200+ various makes & models, but best because many guys who remember the car when it was a daily driver were excited to see the cuda out after being tucked away since '83. I don't need any more awards, just this as recognition to Charlie's & my dreams of having it on the road again.

Well,I  :steamingmad: spent about 2 hours trying to get this pitman arm off of my steering gearbox so I can get it shipped off to Firm Feel. They said feel free to leave it on if you don't have the means to remove it. Not sure if anyone else takes that as a challenge, but...
 so far I've moved it ummmm... none.

Puller at full tight overnight with Kroil on the shaft, took an air impact to the puller in the morning, came right off. Kroil is king.

1Ownr: I agree, very nice Cuda. Not usually a 71 fan but yours is righteous!
