I know this is a long shot but would anybody happen to have the big pilot bushing that fits in the crank torque converter register that's used with auto to manual conversions on 440's with A833?  I believe it's an SKF bushing part number B287 that is discontinued.  A BEARING that fits in the torque converter register is currently available but I would much rather use the bushing.  Anyone happen to have one lying around that they don't need?     Thx

Is your crankshaft drilled for a "pilot bushing", some aren't ????

Either way, I think Brewers can help you out with what you need http://www.brewersperformance.com/

Brewers only has the bearing type now that the bushing one is discontinued.

Wow, that's surprising for such a simple bushing  :drunk:

Try a pilot bearing for a Dakota with the NV3500 manual.   I used one on a big block - TKO combo I did a few years back.  it fit into the hub for the torque converter snout, but had a roller bearing for the manual transmission input shaft.

1998 Dodge Dakota, 5.2 V8, NV3500 manual transmission:

I used the National part number: NATIONAL FC69907    The others are just replacement needle bearings and not the whole thing

He says he doesn't want a bearing but rather a solid bushing that fits in the same area

Yes, yes, yes.....a Bushing, a Bushing, a Bushing.  Thought that was clear in my initial post.  This is a pic of FC69907 which is the roller bearing one.  I'm looking for the one like that that has a BUSHING in the middle instead of a bearing.

Yes, once upon a time, mopar had a bushing that was the size of the torque convertor register to allow 4 speeds to fit in an auto crank that had the correct depth hole but not the proper diameter hole for the traditional 4 spd bushing.

Personally, I would not worry about problems with the bearing. Millions of Dakotas and Rams are in service using the bearing and it is not a high risk failure point on vehicles that have been abused in daily driver situations for millions of miles since the 80s.

Didn`t realize they made a bushing that went where the newer style bearing goes. I`ve been running the bearing style for 25+ years since I did the four speed conversion with no issues, and I don`t baby it!

I guess I glossed over the fact that we're adamant that it's a bushing instead of a greased roller bearing.

Me personally?  I'll take a roller bearing over a soft bronze bushing any day, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Again, I know it's a long shot but if anyone has the big BUSHING type that fits in the crank torque converter register that they don't need please let me know.

Crazy that the bushing is discontinued  every Mopar from the 1940s at least used that same bushing !!
I am sure I have some left but they are 6000 miles away .
