E-Brake

I have no interest in the goofy original ebrake set-up where you basically string up a clothes line under the car.  :dunno:
So.....looking at e-brake options. Either the Lokar set-up or the estopp.
Any other non-factory suggestions appreciated.

Anybody have experience with the Lokar setup? Pro or Con?

I installed an Estopp last year , mounted to the trans , never got to try it though as we never got the vehicle powered up before I left , seems like a slick unit , compact & you can hide the switch

What is that going to do for you? I had a handle like that on a T Bucket I built. You're still going to have to run something to either the wheels or mount something on the rear if you were eliminating going to the wheels.

I just have a little green push button in my console that engages and disengages the e-brake.

Where did you put the estopp unit? What modifications did you have to make to the factory ebrake cables? I am wanting to eliminate my factory ebrake pedal as well..

By mounting that handle between the seats, the e-brake cables will only travel down the tunnel above the d-shaft and out to each wheel. The clothes line will be eliminated. At least that is my thinking at the moment.

Did the estopp come as a kit? Or do you have to purchase another companies brake cable, equalizer bar etc?

The Estopp still needed cables on the one I installed  :bigthumb:

Has anyone tried the Lokar cable?

It looks nice installed on my 'cuda, but I don't seem to have a long enough throw on the brake pedal to engage the Wilwood e-brake.

I sell lots of Lokar and a few E-stops where I work. I prefer the stock stuff for my own cars....

I have a stock ebrake assy with a Lokar cable tying it to my Wilwood cable. Works just fine,

I didn't see a need to make it any more complicated or impact reliability with electronics.

Where I work the engineers all go for more 'features'...lol

Car looks nice and clean Mike! Use the cut-outs to wake the neighbors occasionally?  :burnout:
