Nice if the trans #'s match the vin, other than that Data tag or sheet is nice but you know what it came with.

Lunchbox

I like it, will look similar to mine with the FY1 and the V1X.

Hard to tell in the pics, bumble bee stripe?

F8R/T

No stripe and standard gas cap , gen Cal delivered car.

EV2RTSE

Looks like a great project. Nothing like a nice dry CA car to start with. Wish mine was  :bigthumb:

F8R/T

2 more pics of the rear crossmember,no rust anywhere. Does that unbody sealer look factory as most of the underside is like that except for small areas where the yellow paint is ?.Please let me know if i am boring everyone with these photos ?.

F8R/T

Cut out a bit of rust out of the trunk drop offs and did a tidy up on the quarter panels. ordered a couple of amd trunk drop offs and i will cut them as required .Only need the front pieces of them but the finshed repair will look great.

Not at all. Thank you for posting pics like this and please keep them coming.

Looks like factory undercoating to me. Mine still looks mostly fine and I didn't feel like it needed to be removed, so I kept it in place since it's done a good job of protecting it for almost 55 years now. And yes, please keep posting. These threads are always great entertainment, sometimes providing some insights and it gives you a nice long running data and photo record as well too.

I reckon the previous owner might have done some racing , check the exhaust

YellowThumper

Very cool car. Keep us entertained as you progress with it.

A 383 R/T (or R/T SE) shouldn't have turndown exhaust in CA in 1970. That's a thing of 440-6 and Hemi only.
Unless your car is a JH29N instead of JS29N.
JS29N has tips, JH29N does not.
