I haven't posted much on my car and the engine rebuild because life have just gotten in the way. It's been a long time...... :-X but I thought I would post a few pics of the build. There have been several setbacks with this block and having moved not being in the area of the shop anymore it is very tough for me .  Bottom line is it looks like , at this point (fingers, toes, and anything else that can be is crossed) we can finally start assembly and can see a pin hole of light at the end of the tunnel. I am hoping by April I can go pick up the car and finish (not holding my breath but...)the final items to get it back on the road.

What is that engine, Mopar Thunder? Looks from the pics to be a beefy small block with 4-bolt mains???

Looks really good, and I hope things move forward as best as possible!

Thanks everyone.

73_Cuda_4_Me: the block is a 340 based block manufactured by Kent Ritter. I went to his shop and discussed at length this block.  It is a very beefy block. From everyone that has seen it or knows about it has said it is pretty much bullet proof when it comes to normal issues. The block came real raw though. Every time I thought we had it set something else would come up, we would have to re-align something, bore something, etc. and then it would have to be washed again.

After all the issues that we came across with this block it seems to have worked out. A lot of patience has gone into this. I was at my wits end more than enough times....  :steamingmad: The short block should be completed by the end of the month.  But the shop I have used in the past informed me that they are partnering with someone else, moving their shop and equipment to another location, a larger building so they can offer a line of full services .... yes you guessed it, this all happens in February. So will it be delayed again.... probably but if the shops turns out the way I was told the car won't have to go to several places for tuning or dyno. I wish I could afford an EFI system for it. But that is not in the budget since there wee so many unexpected issues.

The first thing I noticed was the lifter valley webs and drain hole cleanliness... and how beefy and clean all the casting walls are... Looked like a hemi elephant block till I saw the small block dizzy mounting hole in the back!

Looks like it will be a powerhouse!

Thanks for sharing, and welcome!

Sorry you have to go through more delays, and hope it smooths out soon!

Following this build , I have been interested in the Ritter block  :bigthumb:
Sorry it has been so difficult to build , I bet it will be worth it when done tho !!
You will need something to do down the road so plan for the EFI as you put this together

I think your right Chryco..... it will be worth it just frustrating.  This is somewhat of a "trying to build with a budget" project since I did all of this 2 years ago and spent a good amount then. I am trying to use as much of the new-old parts from the other engine. The heads are port and worked Indy 360-2 Aluminum 18 degree heads. And yes, I bought a 4150 CSU Blow Thru 950 carb for the last build and am seriously looking into changing it over to EFI but..... it is a big cost for this application. I got a run down sheet from Holley for what I would need for the HP I should be making. It came out to $3700 with an options list of another $1700. Soooooo we might have to wait on that. What  I see is modification = $$$ and I have run into plenty of modifications for this build. Here are a few updated pics. The last mod came in last week as the oil pump shaft wouldn't fit so it had to be sent to the machine shop for milling and blueprinted. All complete now and short block going together.

ugh!!   :pullinghair:  Having a small issue with the Canton low profile oil pan and the oil return on this block. Waiting for pics to be sent. I like my other pick up system, not thrilled with this one.
