I'm restoring Erik's 70 Barracuda convertible and his will have the A22 front and rear elastomeric bumpers which I think would look fantastic with the original flat hood....and that was the plan, up until last week when he decided to ditch the flat hood in favour of the two scoop hood and a shaker hood to hang on the wall for a raining day....Erik just couldn't find it to paint all three hoods...

I sold my Rallye hood and was able to locate flat one from here, its w/o crumple zones.

Here w/o paint - flat hoods rocks  :)

Looks really clean; nice job stripping the paint off. :bradsthumb:

So many 70 only details to obsess over

So true...when I started my restoration, I had no idea just how many one year details there were. Rear shock holes, crumple zones, mirror bases, the list goes on and on.

That's looking awesome, nice work.
What's the difference with a '70 only flat hood?

1970 hoods have no crumple zones like the newer hoods.

Interesting, so  I will guess that's  something you can tell by looking at the underside

Yes and it holds true with ALL 1970 E Body hoods, flat/rally/shaker you name it.

Finally some update - heater box rebuilt and installed. All metal parts acid dipped and RPM coated for natural look. Box was in good shape so I just washed it. Gasket set came from DMT and Stephan Fournier restored the motor.
Some before and after pics.
