Is there a concern with water getting trapped  under that stuff?
[/quote]

I don't think it will be a problem. The material sticks to the door skin real well, and in the second pic you can see I left the trough at the bottom where the weep holes are, wide open. I'm thinking of putting silicon in the trough and channeling the water out the weep holes to keep that seam from rusting. Any thoughts???

This is the strap I'm using.

Thats how it was done when we just had cars.. Now we need laser cut brackets....  Don't get me wrong, Mike is building a very nice car.... We just built them to work & take the abuse we dealt out regularly...

Finally sent off some .DXFs to the laser cutter. Firewall master cylinder support and a torque strap mount.

Are you using a dampner or strap? That mount looks like for a dampner

It's a chromoly torque strap with rod ends. Chain works fine, but it doesn't really have a place on my car.

It's just as easy for me to draw up the part I need, send it off and get back parts that are ready to go, look good and are dead-on dimensionally. I can 1:1 print these and lay them out myself, if I wind up needing to.

/\/\/\ This.
Having the knowledge of how to fabricate items is a benefit and sometimes a curse. I recently on another project fabbed up a simple coil mount 4 different times due to just it's look. The car is just a driver as well...

Back to point.
Looking great there.
Life is to be viewed thru the windshield. Not rear view mirror.

Did you notice a big difference?  Were you able to change the speedo gear in the trans too?

Quote from: Brads70 on April 23, 2017, 10:58:09 AM

I had a 4.10 gear set installed from 3:55

I wouldn't say it was really dramatic but I do notice. 2400 at 65 MPH now. Perfect for the cam I'm running. I'm using a Speedhut GPS speedo so no changes required.

You must have an OD trans with those low RPM numbers.  I turn about 3800 with a 3.73 at that speed.

Yes It's the A-41 Keisler kit ( 4L60) I had 3:55 and found the engine lugs at 2000 rpm's  while doing 65 mph, it's better now!

Installed a carb heat shield. I checked the temp using IR and temp difference between upper and lower surfaces is 12 degrees F. BtW After speaking with Holley, phenolic is recommended for drag racing and not street.

Getting my Cuda ready for the Niles Car show. 5/13.

Polished all the chrome trim, detailing, etc.

I love taking it there.
It's a cool little old town like my town I grew up used to be like.

The Die hard Chebbie and Ferd's get butt hurt when they see a Hemi Cuda and all they have is a Pony Car.

I hooked up my wiper linkage, long overdue - like 2 years!
Trimmed the washer fluid line, tightened up the routing to gain a couple inches and reconnected it. Not that it matters, the washer doesn't work anyway.
Removed the console glove box door for repairs.
Gave the car a light wax job so it looks pretty.  :wowzers:
