Been a while since i have done work on the car. I hurt my back and don't know how i did it . Painted the roof with KBS paint and that should protect the roof after the vinyl top is fitted and my AMD trunk floor has arrived even though i just need small sections of it.My front valance arrives mid JAN.
Here is a question for you guys ,my rear valance which is original to the car has no cut outs for the exhaust tips as my car is a Cal delivered and has exhaust turn downs under the valance . Do i keep it original or change the valance for the exhaust tips to be fitted.

I am partial to the exhaust tips thru the valence.

Hope you recover quickly.

Absolutely through the valance

Sell the drop tip valance to an AAR guy or a standard BH barracuda collector.
  Hope your recovery went well.

Agree: Tips really make a Challenger or a Cuda. Nice of California to look after the body that nicely though.

I just found this tread and enjoyed reading all six pages to catch up.  Looking forward to following your progress. I agree regarding putting the exhaust tips through the valance, unless you're going for a 100 point restoration. Interesting topic regarding Calif E-bodies having or not having the through valance exhaust. In Nov' of 1969 I factory ordered a 1970 'Cuda, 383, 4-speed, 3.55 sure grip, also with a rear window defogger, Am/FM Multi-plex stereo with three speaker dash and rear speakers with fader switch. I've read over and over that Calif 'Cuda's couldn't get the through valance exhaust tips, but mine came with them???  Sorry about the picture quality, but you can still see the exhaust tips come through the rear valance.

How long between ordering in November and receiving?

Was the car an E coded Vin or a B coded Vin?
The reason I ask this is since the California cars couldn't get that dual tip exhaust cut out valance the Los Angeles assembly plant wouldn't have a stock of N42 Valances available for assembly.
Perhaps the car was ordered in California, assembled in Hamtramck Detroit and shipped to California. All while having the mistaken N42 dual bright exhaust tips installed when it was supposed to have the non cut out dual turn down exhaust.
