Here is a prediction from a book from one of my hero's Sylvia Browne  . . . she died in 2013 and this book was published in 2008.  Makes you think!

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while, she's been wrong way more than right like all the "psychics".  Count all the wrongs and they are not very impressive, but 1 possibly right gets all the attention.

The Governor here called up 2000 National Guard troops.
My largest commercial customer just informed me they are closing down until further notice. They will have  some people in and out so we are
still required to do our thing. We clean commercial office buildings besides the carpet cleaning business.

They are doing everything they can at my office to clear everyone out and get us working from home.
I'm at a disadvantage because I'm one of the few in my group who hasn't been issued a laptop yet.
They've said we can check out our monitors but so far can't take a desktop.  They were talking about some option where employees could log in remotely from their own computer.  Problem is, I use iPads almost exclusively now at home and my desktop is 15 years old and I haven't turned it on in 2 years, and my laptop is around 10 and even though it's upgraded to windows 10, it's getting noisy so I don't use it much.  Obviously neither will work. They also have to set me up on VPN.
Tomorrow will be interesting.
My mom lives in assisted living and they are barring visitors, so I don't know when I'll see her again.
My side work flight instructing might end up grounded for a while.
And car show and cruise night season is around the corner and much will be canceled or delayed.
I'm going to be pretty isolated for a while.  I'm away so much at my 2 jobs I can't be home enough to own a pet, but now I wish I could borrow a dog for a couple months!
Hearing the horror stories from Italy where critically ill patients over 60 are basically being left to die, I don't think this is overkill or an overreaction. The inconvienience and economic damage are going to be hard to take but I understand.

@JH27N0B I feel your pain. I have my work laptop and VPN on a secure phone (I work on power grid issues in substations). Yet the op center still hasn't pulled the trigger on letting us report directly to jobsites. As for your yearning for a dog, have you checked at your local shelter? Many have programs that'd allow for dog sitting. Your story tugs at the heartstrings, man. We're all in this together and we will emerge.

Holy crap, my mom called not 10 minutes after I posted and said they were notified this afternoon that a  patient in another building in her complex just was diagnosed with Covid-19!   :o
They've really locked things down now, she has a nice independent living apartment there and they aren't supposed to go anywhere and stay 6 feet from other residents.
Then she tells me they were running a shuttle bus for residents to the polling place to early vote in the primaries last week, but it was canceled today.  So her and a couple neighbors hopped in her car and she drove them there herself.  And it was crowded when they got there.  I gave her a link last week to get mailed a mail in ballot, which she did, but hadn't arrived yet so she went out and did it in person. Why?  :headbang:

They're testing a vaccine in Seattle apparently. Be a dang shame to buy 20 years worth of toilet paper and 15 years of ammo and not use it.

Like many I've experienced the empty shelves; bread aisle, tp, paper towels, hygiene and cleaning products.

I went by two local Wal-Marts, a two local Publix, and a couple of Cost+10% locations for a loaf of bread and some extra-large eggs - no dice. I'll try some different stores tomorrow.

Learned something new..... never even heard of the 57 caliber before.    I'm old school I guess, not into the target getting back up and would rather reach out and touch from a distance.......
