I painted my headers white to make my engine bay stand out a bit. I always like white headers on gasser. I used alvin high temperature spray paint white.

Radiator looks (by the number) to be a 1971.   The other part looks to be a filler panel for a bumper?   :notsure:

It is the 5mph bumper insert!  This awesome standard feature came in 73 and 74 on E bodies.  Who says the later year cars aren't as cool!

In all seriousness though, losing the front and rear 5mph inserts is about a 30lb weight loss.  You'll need some 70-72 brackets for it to look right if you don't run the inserts (available from AMD if you can't locate or don't have them).  You'll have an unsightly gap between the grill and bumper in front and all the way across the back.  Especially if you don't have the filler strips, which are difficult to find at all, let alone in good shape (they are not being reproduced to my knowledge).

Cool project!

Thanks for the information. I do have the strips which are in excellent condition. Im not going to install the 5 mpj bumper insert since its extra weight.

Getting close to getting the car running. I lost all power to my fuse block due to a bad starter solenoid. The starter solenoid was stuck open and keep cranking over the engine and blow the bus on the fuse block. Got a new starter solenoid and that stopped the engine from cranking over by itself. Now when I get home i can see which bus is blown on the fuse block.

Well i got my shifter linkage hooked up and almost finished making the seat track for passenger side. Just need to bleed the clutch and hopefully i can drive it out the garage for the first time under its own power.

I hear that! I'm getting anxious to get back to the Javelin also! We have about 8" of snow left in the yard but looking at this weeks weather forecast, looks like it should be gone by the weekend!

I like the 69 Mustang is that yours also?  :bradsthumb:

Nice "herd" you have going on in your driveway! I'm envious! Any "car guy" couldn't pass by your place without smiling!  :bigthumb:
