Man that's a lot of work...why wouldn't you just take the entire dash out of the car first ?
Good question Alan... Pretty sure I won't be doing it that way again.   :bricks:   :Thud:

Guess I'll be headed to Radio Shack. Or other since most of the Radio Shacks around here have disapeered...

Isn't it the "light buzzer" diode??

Quote from: PlumCrazyRTSE on April 30, 2018, 01:46:12 AM
Yep, looks like a diode and the gray band indicates the cathode side.

Thanks for the info. Found this on here.

It can be done.    :D

Just looked on Amazon.
Quantity of (1), (5) or (100) 4004 Diodes all are priced $5.00 and change.

You have scored such a great starting point and even making it better.
Agree on Tuff wheel. Had to change mine out also.

Great work on restoring all those dash pieces, especially the cracks.  Just a hint at something I tried and that worked well on some cracks in some of my plastic pieces.  After fixing the crack, put a piece of drywall tape over the crack and then coat that with 5 minute epoxy.  Works sort of like fiberglass matting but much easier and adds extra strength to the crack in case it flexes.

Interior is pretty much back together.
What a pain in the arse to get the console back together and installed with everything not wanting to line up.
Calling it Good 'nuff!
No Radio... had an old pioneer cassete deck in the hole but it's not going back in. Don't have the stock radio.
Will put something in there modern with decent speakers, amp and subwoofer.  Kick panels were already cut. Package tray has cutouts for 6x9 or simmilar. The front center speaker was shreded. I have an addapter for a pair of small speakers to fit in its place. Mobile AC guy coming tomarrow to recover the R134A from the system so I can finish taking it apart. The car goes in for Engine Bay and trunk paint on Monday 6/4
Will also get the under side of the hoop stripped and painted. While the engine is out, I will clean it up and paint it too.

Paint over undercoating ove paint... WTH??? Oh well turns out it's not rotted like I suspected.
