I know they are finally exempt from from the 2 year smog checks. Mine's a 74 and took another 5 years past the 73's to drop off.
But does Ca. still require the test for initial registration into the state?

Beginning K frame resto in anticipation of 440 being done and having something to bolt it to while body/paint prep proceeds.

Have any of you tried the replacement radios from "Classic Car Stereos"??    Replica that fits in the same .... 180W.   Looks identical to
original.   About $650.

I ordered one, but have yet to install it.   Comes with Bluetooth to connect to your smart phone.

I have been working on my exhaust issue. I converted the mufflers to turndowns when I put them on, but the turndowns did not fit right. So I am cutting those off and fixing them.

Also installing O2 sensors.

Pic below is the turndowns on it now.

No, not really........but,
You need to get a VIN verification form. All information on it must be filled out by a peace officer, or DMV. You must have the title and vehicle with you for verification. On the form is a spot to put the "engine family" smog code.
Look up the smog tag for the engine originally installed in the car. It will have the 7 digit "engine family" code. CHP and DMV were the only ones who would fill out the form, but now, in the "Covid years", a lot of local PD's are willing to fill them out. Depending on how picky the officer is, you might be able to just show them a pic of a repop tag, or fill it in yourself.
Totally stupid, but very typical, California DMV......🙄

Haven't been using the Cuda much today, I took it to pickup the kids, then we stopped at a playground.

I've been using the warlock a bunch for hauling the boat around. EFI has been doing very well after the initial kinks.

@GoodysGotaCuda.
What EFI did you install on your Warlock?

For this thread. I fired it up and brought it up to temp for the first time in a couple months.
Still amazed at how smooth the idle is with the MS3X and coil packs.

Just a Holley Sniper on the warlock, pretty basic.

Calibrated my speedometer and worked on some transmission bugs.
Got any more pics of your center console? Looks sharp!

Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk

It's a 2018 Challenger console.

Looks sharp!   Is that shifter connected to a modern transmission or adapted to an old Torqueflite?

Modern transmission (8HP70)... this console is better at hiding my gigantic transmission tunnel than the old one, and gave me a spot to hide a huge pile of wires and cables.

Looks good!

Didn't notice the switches next to the shifter before. What are they for? Power locks, power windows? Something else?
What did you use for a trans cooler? Auxiliary cooler alone, Radiator + Auxiliary or Radiator alone? With or without thermostatic bypass valve?

That console looks good in there, I don't like modern consoles in the e-bodies, but this one is an exception!

Spent a little time on my mufflers and fixing my windshield trim today.

Cold crappy day so only spent about two hours on it today.

I just tacked the pipe in there for now. I will cut the turndowns to length once I check how short they can go with the valance back on.

Heck it was beautiful out all weekend here.. 70's. No way I was going to get under the Challenger unless something was horribly broke. I drove it.. took the wife to Santa Cruz.. then up he coast and through Woodside.. 4 corners on the way home. Drove about 150 miles... 15mpg... think that carb is finally dialed in!

Gets dark fast now. Might replace the LED headlights. The set that is in is ok.. but I really missed a focused beam driving through Woodside. Some of the other sets available have the center cone in the glass housing that seems to help focus the beam like this set here: https://www.amazon.com/Octane-Lighting-Crystal-Headlight-Headlamp/dp/B07L45VCT7/ref=redir_mobile_desktop/138-0205760-1766755?ie=UTF8&psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image#customerReviews
